Who Holds the Keys on Uptown Village's Main Street Now

On August 2, Michael Perozzo went to a meeting with the owners of Trap Door Brewing. He expected a friendly catch-up. He had worked with the brewery for about ten years through his media company, Zzeppelin. According to New School Beer + Cider, he was asked a different question: would Vice Beer take over Trap Door's Uptown lease?

"I went in thinking it was just a pleasant make-nice sort of thing," Perozzo told the publication. Less than two months later, the keys were scheduled to change hands.

That meeting sums up Uptown Village's year. Several storefronts on and around Main Street changed tenants in 2026. In each case we traced, a new operator was lined up within weeks of the old one leaving, and sometimes before the old one had left.

The Taproom at 2315 Main St

Trap Door's original location at 2315 Main St was set to close on September 30. Vice Beer was to take the keys on October 1 and, after a quick refresh and rebrand, hoped to reopen on October 7. We haven't found a report confirming that either date held. Treat it as the plan Vice announced in September, and check before you walk over.

The Uptown room will be Vice's third taproom. Vice opened its first on the east side of Vancouver in 2022 and later added a small satellite pub downtown called A Little Vice. The owners give each room its own corner of their '80s and '90s theme. The original brewery leans into video games, movies and TV. A Little Vice leans into music and the arts. Co-owner Michael Perozzo described the Uptown room this way:

"So our 3rd location will have a dash of sports. The venue already has 3 TV's and is home to the Timbers Army Northern Alliance away day watch parties. It won't be a sports bar."

Perozzo told New School Beer + Cider that the screens might show the 1994 NBA All-Star Game or the Miracle on Ice, and that five or six standing arcade cabinets are coming.

Trap Door isn't leaving the county. The brewery said its Washougal operation will continue.

Why the Beer Porch Stays

At 2315 Main, the brewery is changing hands but much of the space around it is not. The covered Beer Porch and the E-San Thai and Taco City food trucks will stay as the main food options. They sit on an adjacent lot with its own owner and management, so they aren't part of the brewery's lease.

So the change shows up mostly in what's on tap and on the walls. The patio and the trucks stay where they are because they were never part of the deal.

One more food option may be coming. El Viejon, the taquería that started at Vice's east-side brewery and co-owns businesses with Vice, has been exploring a new concept for the space called Burgers & Sandos by El Viejon. As of the September report it had no opening date, so for now it's only a possibility.

A New Tenant for a Basement With Its Own History

A few blocks south on Broadway, a closure with more weight behind it led to the next new tenant. UnderBar, a speakeasy-style bar in the basement at 1701 1/2 Broadway St., opened in 2017. The Columbian described it as Vancouver's only queer-owned and operated LGBTQ+ bar. It closed in July. The Columbian gave the last night as July 10, and a local newsletter, The PNW Report, put it at July 15.

By mid-August, the space had a new tenant lined up. Hi There Juice Co. announced it would leave its spot inside Mighty Bowl on W. Eighth St. after September 25 and open in the former UnderBar space on October 1. At Mighty Bowl, the juice bar had taken over the interior smoothie bar while Mighty Bowl kept running its own walk-up window. The menu covers fresh juice, smoothies, açaí bowls and wellness shots such as ginger and turmeric.

This is also a return trip. Local food writer Jacob Thomas first saw Hi There housed at Kindred in Uptown, before it moved downtown to Mighty Bowl. As with Vice, the October 1 date was announced in advance and we haven't seen it confirmed.

Dessert Takes the Yogurt Shop's Spot

On Main Street, the former Yogurt Time storefront went to another dessert business. Toasted S'mores Bar, a dessert shop that started in Portland, opened there by late August. The local newsletter This is Vancouver, WA reported it open on August 31.

The shop makes s'mores to order and finishes them with a blowtorch. It also serves frozen hot chocolate and cold brew. S'mores start at $6, and the menu has vegan and gluten-free options. The newsletter put it simply: "Another storefront filled on Main Street is always worth celebrating."

Earlier in August, the same newsletter reported that Lady Bird, a new food truck serving Southern-style comfort food, had started serving in Uptown Village. It described the truck as one more addition to the cluster of food businesses that has reshaped the area over the past decade. The Columbian covered the truck's launch in more detail.

For the three storefronts that changed tenants, the next operator was named quickly. Trap Door's owners chose their successor before their own last day. Hi There announced its move to Broadway by mid-August, about a month after UnderBar closed, though the October opening is still a plan. Yogurt Time's old storefront kept serving dessert under a new name.

What the Calendar Doesn't Show Yet

One gap remains. The Uptown Village Association's events page lists Cupid's Bazaar, held February 7, 2026. When we checked, it showed no events for late October through December. We couldn't find any posted Halloween, holiday market or tree-lighting dates for Uptown this year. They may still be announced, but nothing is published yet.

If the October dates held, a weeknight in Uptown might go like this: a juice from the basement on Broadway, a s'more from the old yogurt counter, then a pint under the Beer Porch's roof, with Vice's arcade cabinets inside where Trap Door's room used to be.

Partners Leigh Calvert and Harvey Coker follow these changes because they decide which corners feel lived-in when a buyer walks Main Street for the first time. If you're weighing a home within walking distance of Uptown Village, or you'd like your listing presented with this kind of street-level detail, Oxford Street Partners would be glad to walk the blocks with you. Book a Consultation and we'll start at 2315 Main.
